Hello! Long time, no post! Not really, only a month or so, but hey. I officially have a walker now. She's practically running. She's a big pig too! At her 1 year Dr. Appt. the Dr said she had gained over 3 pounds in 3 months! So, she's finally over 20 lbs. and she is 30 1/2 inches long.
Windy, Megan, and I just got back from our trip to St. Louis for a few days. We had a BLAST! Even though I missed Abi, it was great to get away. We went to the spa one day for a massage, mani and pedi. Then on Friday we went to a Rascal Flatts/Taylor Swift concert. I love love love Taylor Swift, so it was SOOOOO good to see here. Life is really good here. Although everyone is talking about moving.... So here are a few pics from Abi's b-day "party" and something I had made for Father's Day.

WOW! I cannot believe it is Mother's Day already. This time last year, I was hugely pregnant and waiting to meet the as yet unknown sex of Baby Byers. Now we have spent almost a year (YEAR!?!?!?) of time getting to know the light of our lives. I can't even remember what life was like before Abi arrived. Here is a look back at Abi's time with the women in her life. It is my sincere wish and hope that these women will be as important to her in her life as they have been to me. I love you all, and so does Abi. Thank you for all that you have done for us over the years, especially now that I know what a struggle it can be sometimes!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!

It's been a long time! I'm just going to post a few random pics, to show how much she has changed! She has 2 bottom teeth all the way through, 1 top tooth peeking through, and 1 more top tooth that will pop out any day now. She started taking one step a couple of times on Saturday, but that is it--no walking yet. She is stubborn and such a CHICKEN! As soon as she realizes she is walking, she drops down and crawls. If we are trying to get her to crawl to us, she will walk as far as she can holding on to something, then the lets go, wobbles and stands for a second, then drops and crawls. CHICKEN! Oh, well, really I'm in no rush for her to walk, but it is just so exciting! She is still waving bye-bye, can play "So Big", and can clap her hands. She mostly eats toddler food now, I'm just finishing off the baby food I have left. That's what Nic likes to feed her, because he is too lazy to clean up after her big girl eating frenzy. That's our life in a nutshell, hopefully I can keep this updated better!

She also looooooves chocolate. She didn't eat a whole lot, just shared mommy's popsicle. She made a big mess though, and kept taking big bites of popsicle. SOOOOO cute!

Two posts in a row! I'm doing good! Today was Abi's 1st snow! We woke up to about 3 inches of snow outside. Of course, we had to bundle up and check it out! She definately liked the snow more than she liked the sand last week, and, of course, she had to eat some. If I'd had the stuff, we would have made some snow ice cream, which I haven't had in FOREVER, that my daddy used to make whenever it snowed. Anyways, here are a few of my favorite pictures. I hope you enjoy them as much as Abi and I enjoyed taking them. We were just sorry Daddy couldn't be here for her first snow. :( He's working in KC for a few days. Oh, well, though, as you can tell, we had a blast!!!!!!!!!!

I know it has been a while since I posted, but between the holidays (which I still haven't posted about...) and having a baby that is talking nonstop and getting into everything, I haven't had time. Abi still isn't crawling, but she is SO CLOSE. She is scootching forward and backward now, so it won't be very long. She is talking up a storm! She can say nana, mama, dada, and bye-bye. And she can wave! Next up is clapping.

Back to the reason for the post, we just got back from Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands after a wonderful week of fun in the sun! We went with Larry and Betsy, a couple friend of theirs, Melinda and David, and Jeff and Angela. It was so much fun introducing Abi to so many new things: sand, ocean, and she LOVES to swim (i.e. splash in the water) So here are a few of the pics from our trip. Enjoy!!!

FINALLY! I finally managed to get some pictures to post! I think maybe I just wasn't waiting long enough for the pics to upload...oops! So, Abi and I had a "photo shoot" a few days ago for our Christmas cards. Here is a little preview!

We spent a week in AR a couple of weeks ago and got to do some visiting with family. We spent the night at Grandmommy and Granddaddy's house. We had Grandmommy's famous spaghetti! YUMMY! Then, on our way home we stopped to visit with our cousins Jill and Travis. Both of the babies have gotten so big! They weren't really sure what to do, but I think they had fun together. We've played together before, and I can assure you that they will play together again too!!! Enjoy!

HAHAHA!! I finally figured out how to get around the fact that I can't upload pics to this site. There's even a bonus -- I can post more pics!! These are from Abi's 4th month -- September.

She finally rolled over....granted, its been a few weeks now, but we are still excited. She goes from her tummy to her back whenever we put her down, and occasionally now, she will roll from her back to her tummy, but only when she is really really throwing a fit. Anyways, the proud mommy and daddy wanted to share this video!

It won't let me post pictures, but it will let me post videos?!?!! What's up with that? Oh, well. This is a video of when Abi first started "talking". She was talking away until I tried to get her to do it for the camera, then she wasn't interested at all!! Sorry so dark, we were watching the Razorbacks game...which is probably why she was talking, she was CHEERING!! Okay, just so everyone knows I am not holding out...Something is wrong with our internet. Everytime I try to post pics, it crashes. This site isn't letting me upload even one picture at a time! It's driving me crazy, cause I have been trying for days! Anyways, hopefully I'll get it figured out soon, but in the meantime here is a little teaser....

Abi finally rolled over yesterday! She rolled from her tummy to her back, so no more tummy time for Abi! Also, on Wednesday, we started giving her cereal. She isn't quite sure what to make of it, but she kinda likes it, especially the spoon -- I think chewing on it is her favorite part! I have some great pics of all this to share if I can just figure out how....Hopefully I'll be a ble to show off my little cutie soon!!!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO US!!!!!!!!! It's hard to believe that it has already been 1 year since we found out we were expecting. I took the pg test at work and was so excited, I told my mom 1st instead of Nic (who wasn't answering his phone because he was getting a deal). When I finally got a hold of him, he was so excited!! Here are some pics from that special time in our lives...

It's so funny to remember this time. Larry and Betsy didn't even know yet. We were planning on telling them and everyone else at this game, but they didn't end up coming. So here we are hanging out with Jeff and Lauren, and Ryan and Renae, and even some of Betsy's really good friends, and we can't say anything!!!! We wanted to tell them in person, but we couldn't wait anymore, so we called them on the way home from the game, then called everyone we had just seen and told them too. I swear the whole ride from Fayetteville to Branson was spent on the phone! I called Windy and Megan that afternoon and made up a big story about how Nic and I were fighting and I needed girl night to vent about it. When we all got there, I told them that we weren't really fighting and that I just wasn't sure they would show up to hang out if I told them I just wanted to hang out. I then told them that I felt bad for doubting them, so I got them a little gift. In the bag was a pregnancy test I had taken earlier that day! (ps -- When Windy got pregnant later, she told us the same way!) Anyways, it was fun remembering what life was like a year ago, but Abi is playing and happy and I want to play too! We are taking Abi to her first game on Saturday, so there will be pics of that coming soon!!!

Sorry it has been so long since I updated! I uploaded some pics to Nic's computer and every time I tried to upload to the internet, it would crash. Since I download the pics from the internet onto my computer to post, it took me awhile to highjack Nic's computer to write this blog. Well, it's official - Abi is 3 months old (ha ha, by now she is almost 4 months, but oh well that just means a quick update again!). She finally got her 2 month shots on her 3 month b-day and did really well, except for some lingering fussiness for about a week. She was 9 lb, 15 oz which is in the 30 percent for weight. She was 24 or 26 inches long, which was in the 100% for height (I know that is shocking with Nic and I as mommy and daddy!) and her head was right at 50%. So slowly but surely she is gaining weight. She is still on the skinny side, but it is the long and skinny side (see mom and dad above). She is doing so much now! She smiles all the time and is really working on her laugh, even though it still sounds like a hiccup. She is tracking objects, especially her favorite object: MOMMY! I swear she knows where I am at all times, whether it is across the room or across the house. She's finally started "talking" and from the way she is playing with her lips, spitting is just around the corner. Those teeth I was talking about still haven't popped thru, but they are definately on the way. She puts everything into her mouth, including her toes, which started yesterday, and I will have pics of her doing that as soon as I can get them uploaded! I got a bunch of Baby Einstein videos from Ebay, and she loves them! She will actually sit and watch the whole thing (see pic below!). Anyways, I plan to post more pics tomorrow, but this is the important info, and a few pics to help tide you over!

On Friday, Abi and I got to go spend the afternoon with Cousin Travis and my cousin Jill. We had a great time letting the babies play together and comparing notes and accomplishments. Travis is rolling over now and can spit like a champ (those silly boys!). While Abi is starting to get a few teeth!! (Early I know, but mom says I got my first two teeth at 3 1/2 months). They both have about the same amount of hair -- NONE!! Although what they do have is red, or reddish, on both heads. Jill's friend Crystal came over with her son Brayson, who was due on Abi's birthday, but was born 2 months early and is thriving! He got fussy and had to leave before the photo shoot (which was too bad cause his mom is a professional photographer!), but we all had a lot of fun. My quiet Abi wasn't too sure what to make of those noisy boys, but we had a great time and can't wait to do it again. I wish they lived closer!!!!

Here is the comparison shot of the two of them in their bumbos. They are about the same length, but Abi is as skinny as Nic was at this age. One of these days I'll have to post some comparison shots of Nic and I as babies next to Abi.
Here is a picture of them the first time they met when Abi was 4 days old. They have grown SO MUCH in just 3 short months!!
I can't wait to watch the two of them grow up together. Jill and Kaci and I had so much fun at Grandmommy's every summer when we were kids. Even though Travis is a boy and Abi is a girl, I hope they know each other as well as we did. (And for those of you who read Jill's blog also, sorry for the double pics. I, of course, forgot my camera -- as usual! BAD MOMMY!!)

FINALLY!! I was saving some pictures to my mom and dad's computer when I came across these pictures of Abi's nursery. I was planning on doing a photo shoot for some pics when I finally get back to Branson, but now I guess I don't have to! My cousin Robyn painted the mural of the frogs and animals on the wall, didn't she do a great job? (For those who are interested, I'm sure she would give you a quote to have her paint your walls for you!) My mom painted the walls, helped Nic put up the chair rail, and she and I put together the furniture. Abi still doesn't hang out in there very much, but someday she is really going to enjoy all the hard work that went in to this room!!

This is the bookcase/dresser/changing table with all of her books. The stuffed frog on the lowest shelf is the very first gift that Nic and I bought for the baby.
Painting the ceiling was mom's idea. So was turning the light fixture into a sun. It turned out so cute that when Nic offered to buy a ceiling fan (the room is so HOT!) I said no, because I liked the sun too much!
And here is an idea of how old these pictures are: These were taken the day that my mom headed back to AR after Abi was born. She was 4 days old.

We had a great time in St. Louis when Nic had to go up for a party weekend. Wyndham put us up at the $300/night Ritz Carlton, gave us $80 tickets to watch the Cardinal's lose, and we got to eat at my favorite restaurant The Cheesecake Factory twice (bad for my diet, but oh so yummy!).

Hiding in the shade with Auntie Windy (6 months preggo with baby Titan) til the sun went down. When it finally did, the temp in the stadium dropped 25 degrees! It didn't bother Abi, though, she slept through most of the game, and ate thru the rest. --

We had a great time and this is only the first of many vacations we can't wait to take with Abi!

Well, it has been an action packed 11 weeks. Having a new baby around is a LOT of work, but a TON of fun, too. It's so awesome to be here to watch all of her firsts.
